Jason has raced in a number of Mid-Atlantic events over the years & regularly trains with a group of hardcore competitors in MD. Luckily, he has a very supportive wife who tolerates his day trips to local races & even some long weekends in NC & NJ. As a family of 4, they encourage each other to always be active & outside; and make the best choices to maintain healthy lifestyles. The beach, outdoors & paddling are a huge part of his/their life & really help in maintaining balance in a hectic schedule.
The East Coast has pretty chilly winters lately in the Mid-Atlantic region. If its above 40 degrees & he can get free, he is likely to be out in the bay paddling an interval workout, a long distance paddle or just taking in the views of the historic town of Havre de Grace, MD. When he can get with a group for downwinders in the Chesapeake Bay, it is always a good time as well. When there are big races on the calendar, they are all highly competitive, so there is always focus on technique, fitness & intensity. Jason is also a Paddle Instructor for Beach Bee Yoga & SUP, a local yoga studio in Havre de Grace that also offers SUP lessons. Jason offers lessons through the studio & hopes that he has created a good buzz around town to get more people out on the water.
