Recently, I attended my first “One Percent for the Planet” meeting since I became a member. It was exciting because it was held at Patagonia’s corporate office along with owner and co-founder of “One Percent for the Planet”, Yvon Chouinard. The meeting was arranged as a “One Percent for the Planet” Southern California network gathering.
Before the meeting started, we mingled to get to know each other while enjoying some great food. I was able to talk to Yvon Chouinard about my new product, Newf surfboard net bag, fly-fishing, and some other chitchat.
In the meeting, local “One Percent” business members and environmental non-profit groups exchanged ideas and shared their perspectives and feedback on relevant environmental issues both local and worldwide. We discussed the importance of keeping in touch with each other and staying current on the issues important to us. ”One Percent for the Planet” has a network of 1,200 businesses and 3,000 non-profits working as a team to help with the task of solving some of environmental issues that affect us today as well as in the future.
It was very inspiring and powerful being around all these people sharing their passion and ideas in ways to help our environment. I enjoyed it greatly.
